I am of American origin and received my BA degree in the United States, but received my MA in England and am now working toward my PhD in History at the University of Cambridge.

I have extensive writing and editing experience, both through my academic career and through professional experience. I have nearly four years of professional experience as a freelance writer and editor, working in a variety of fields. In particular, I have written a number of pieces intended for online publication on Financial, Legal and Business subjects. I have also edited pieces in these areas. In addition I have worked professionally as both a private tutor and a classroom instructor for more than five years. I tutor students in a wide variety of academic subjects, as well as in writing and reading skills, organisational management, and test preparation. I, furthermore, have worked with students in preparing applications for both university and employment opportunities and in interview preparation.Besides the extensive writing experience I have garnered from my educational and professional lives, I have also gained experience through extracurricular pastimes. I was an editor for both my university newspaper and the university yearbook. I have also led workshops for students ranging in age from 14 to adult on writing resumes and personal statements and on applying to university.I feel confident that I could convey my editorial experience and knowledge of job and university applications in a coherent manner. Besides the experience already mentioned, I also teach undergraduates for the University of Cambridge, wherein I guide my students in writing top-level essays and in preparing for strenuous written examinations.
