I hold a Ph.D. from Harvard University and I am the author of a university press book and over two dozen articles and reviews for peer-reviewed journals, reference books, and online publications. I served two terms as an H-Net Reviews Editor, assisting professional scholars revise their work for publication.  In addition to my work in the humanities, I have lectured in the history of the sciences. I also am quite familiar with the particular hurdles facing applicants in engineering and medicine, even for those who have previous professional training and experience. I can assist you in preparing your best application in those competitive fields.

In addition to graduate and professional school candidates, I can help students with their college application essays. From my home university campus, I teach a course on writing successful college application essays for high school students who are the first in their families to attend college. All of those students were admitted to college and most received generous scholarships.
