Financial donations

We have received financial donations totaling:

RMB3950 from 14 donors inside China
RMB878 from 2 donors outside China

Mask donations

We have received 700 masks in donations.

A further 10,000 masks have been pledged by a contact of an attendee of Saturday’s event and we are working to confirm this kind offer.

Campaign logistics

Updates on planned and in progress Shipments.

Shipment 1

Shipment 1 has been confirmed delayed by FedEx due to limited flights out of Shanghai.

UK part will now leave China on 20 April.
US part will now leave China on 16 April.

Shipment 2

We have found an alternative agent able to ship via UPS out of Hong Kong (via location in Shenzhen). Due to a fixed express account with a minimum of 1-tonne daily, this agent provides a more sustainable route for our campaign resources. Arrival at destinations in the US and UK expected by 22 April.

Distribution and impact

We now have 19 pledges to distribute 2,230 masks to 193 people (10 days worth per person).

Shipment 3

Target send date: 27 April. Target arrival date: 05 May.

We’ll continue online and offline fundraising. Whether to expand promotion of freesurgicalmasks.com sign-ups will depend on our progress.

Our goal is to send Shipment 3 (to either the Shipment 2 Trailblazers only or the Shipment 2 Trailblazers + an expanded group) by 24 April. We will update when we feel confident we have confirmed resources to promote sign-ups more widely.
