转专业申请是申请中较为常见的一种申请方式,其中包括专业内转方向申请和专业外的跨专业申请。这种申请方式不仅可以实现较高的录取率也更利于申请博士的同学找到更为适合的研究方向。现在很多专业的设置都存在学科交叉的情况,而这种学科交叉的形式也是产生转专业申请的主要原因,比如:学习光电子的同学(比如我)就可以通过转专业的方式申请到物理化学专业进行研究,并且目前研究的内容和方式比之前更为适合。那么,如何进行跨专业的选择?跨专业过程中需要注意的问题有哪些?跨专业之后课程应该如何选择?这些问题都可以在这门课程中得到解决。我在申请过程中以及到达美国之后碰到了非常多转专业申请成功的案例,我有足够多的经验可以帮助到准备转专业申请的同学。

在校期间,在进行专业学习和课题研究的同时,我担任过班长、学生会面试负责人及绿色协会理事等职务,主要负责专业内的学术讨论及学生未来发展规划等工作。生活上,电影、音乐和旅行一直是我最喜欢的部分,而篮球、网球是我最愿意尝试的运动。于我而言,出国留学不仅仅是学习新的知识,感受新的文化,更是自我认知和提高的平台和经历,我愿意分享我的经验,尽我最大的努力,为更多的同学指明方向,激励共勉!

During the first year of my Ph.D. study, I was working as a teaching assistant and rotation research assistant. At that time, I not only focused on teaching basic chemical experiments but also took time to write code for simulating ultrafast dynamics in nanosheet and nanorod, which was very chanlleging and difficult. Since my previous major was fully related to optics and laser, it was really hard to transfer to physical chemistry. But I did it, I found my interest in simulation and calculation of each process happening in nanomaterials, which could help me achieve a deeper understanding of physical properties of nanomaterials.
Based on my own experience, it will be very difficult to transfer from one major to another unless you are really interested and addicted to it. If you could find your interest and creative parts in one major, keep going and you would obtain a very outstanding result!
