Economic Empowerment, Modern Media Use and Dissemination: A Study on the Dissemination and Inheritance of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage in Kwai Researcher and Author  Organized in-depth interviews with five Chinese cultural heritage artists using Kwai (Chinese social media app) to understand platform use, including why and how they use the platform, what they think of the platform  Investigated users’ preference of intangible cultural heritage videos in the form of questionnaires  Findings: Financially and occupationally disadvantaged cultural heritage artists have gained fame and income through Kwai. The traditional mode to train the next generation of inheritors has changed from oral teaching to large-scale training courses. Artists have begun the selection of online audiences to be their successors.
