I am currently finishing a doctorate in political philosophy at St Anne's College, Oxford. I have a Masters in Politics from Brasenose College, Oxford, and a BA in Economics and Politics from York University. I have a keen eye for style and was nominated for a Guardian Student Media Award in 2009. I have also carried out editing work professionally for the Westminster think tank Politeia.

###Educational I grew up in Manchester before moving to York to study for an undergraduate in Economics and Politics. It was there that I came to love political philosophy. For the last six years I have been studying political philosophy at Oxford and hope to pursue an academic career in the subject.. ###Professional Before my undergraduate degree, I worked for the accountancy firm BDO Stoy Hayward in Manchester. Until recently, I was Operations Manager of the Westminster think tank Politeia. This involved extensive editing of material for donors, politicians and academics. During my time at Oxford, I taught numerous undergraduates in political philosophy, ethics and the history of political thought. ###Writing While at York, I was nominated for a Guardian Student Media Award for my sports journalism. Writing in philosophy must be clear and comprehensible at all times, so I am well attuned to what is required in this area. I have written for numerous blogs in my spare time. ###Personal I love playing football and tennis and have been the captain of many football teams. I love literature, film and stand up comedy.
